The Regional Sales Manager is responsible for driving profitable growth and market development within the assigned territory through the execution of sales, marketing, and customer engagement strategies aligned with national and corporate objectives. This role provides leadership to a regional sales team while directly managing strategic customer relationships and business development activities.
The Regional Sales Manager serves as a key liaison between customers, distributors, industry stakeholders, and internal teams to strengthen Rovensa Next's market position and advance adoption of BioSolutions technologies. Success in this role requires strong leadership, technical agricultural expertise, strategic planning, financial acumen, and a commitment to customer success.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Sales Leadership
- Develop and execute regional business plans that support company sales, profitability, and market share objectives.
- Establish regional sales targets and performance metrics consistent with national and corporate goals.
- Monitor market conditions, competitive activity, customer needs, and industry trends to identify growth opportunities and risks.
- Develop and implement strategic initiatives to expand market penetration and accelerate adoption of company products and technologies.
Team Leadership and Development
- Lead, coach, mentor, and develop a high-performing regional sales team.
- Establish clear performance expectations and accountability measures for team members.
- Conduct regular sales reviews, field coaching sessions, and performance evaluations.
- Support team members in customer acquisition, account development, territory management, and technical selling activities.
- Foster a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
Customer and Market Development
- Develop, maintain, and grow a portfolio of strategic accounts to contribute toward regional sales objectives.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with growers, distributors, retailers, consultants, researchers, and key industry stakeholders.
- Identify customer needs and deliver value-based solutions that improve customer outcomes and business performance.
- Participate in industry meetings, trade shows, educational events, field demonstrations, and conferences to enhance market presence and identify new business opportunities.
Financial and Business Management
- Prepare and manage the regional sales budget, including revenue forecasts, operating expenses, and growth initiatives.
- Monitor regional business performance and provide accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual forecasts.
- Analyze sales performance, market potential, and profitability trends to guide business decisions.
- Support effective credit management and collection efforts when required.
Inventory and Operational Management
- Collaborate with Customer Care, Supply Chain, and Operations teams to maintain appropriate regional inventory levels aligned with sales forecasts and seasonal demand.
- Ensure efficient management of product availability to support customer needs and company inventory objectives.
- Maintain accurate sales records, customer information, and pipeline activities within designated CRM systems.
Marketing and Brand Development
- Collaborate with the national marketing team to develop and execute regional marketing programs and promotional activities.
- Support product launches, field trials, demonstrations, and educational initiatives within the territory.
- Ensure consistent communication and representation of Rovensa Next's values, mission, and brand identity.
- Position Rovensa Next as the preferred BioSolutions partner among growers, distributors, consultants, and industry influencers.
Compliance and Professional Conduct
- Ensure compliance with company policies, regulatory requirements, industry standards, and ethical business practices.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive business, customer, and employee information.
- Promote a safe and professional work environment and always uphold company values.
Travel
- Region travel required includes ~25% overnight travel.
Education and Experience
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Plant Science, Soil Science, Agricultural Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience leading remote sales teams within the agricultural industry.
- Demonstrated success in sales leadership, market development, and customer relationship management.
- Proven experience, developing business opportunities and driving revenue growth.
- Strong technical understanding of crop production systems and agricultural inputs.
Preferred
- Advanced degree in Agronomy, Business, Agricultural Sciences, or related discipline.
- Experience with biological products, biostimulants, crop nutrition, crop protection, adjuvants, or related technologies.
- Experience utilizing CRM systems and business intelligence tools.

Compensation
This is a full-time, exempt position. Compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, and demonstrated capabilities. Eligible employees may participate in company-sponsored incentive, benefit, and performance programs in accordance with company policy.
