Key Responsibilities:
- Compliance & QEHS Management
- Develop, implement, and maintain QEHS programs, Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Safety Data Sheets (SDS), employee training programs, PPE Requirements, recordkeeping systems, and related activities.
- Maintain facility compliance with regulatory permitting and report requirements, including but not limited to NOP, OSHA, EPA, CUPA, MPCA, and SPCC.
- Possess strong working knowledge of chemical and transportation regulations, including DOT, IMDG, IATA, EPA, TSCA, FDA, and USDA.
- Review, approve, and release raw materials and finished products; ensure accuracy and issuance of Certificates of Analysis (COAs).
- Oversee EHS aspects of production, chemical processing, and new product launches, including batch record review and chemical safety training.
- Manage retain sample inventory GHS-compliant chemical labeling and monitor raw material and finished product shelf life.
- Lead root cause investigations, corrective and preventative actions (CAPA), and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Conduct routine internal audits and lead or support external audits pertaining to QEHS compliance.
- Manage hazardous chemical waste disposal in accordance with EPA and MPCA regulations.
- Chemistry & Formulations Integrity
- Conduct formulation and quality control testing including basic phys-chem analysis, stability studies, and validation activities (including coordination with external laboratories).
- Collaborate with global formulation teams to ensure all formulations are accurately represented within the global database.
- Validate raw materials and adjust formulations when needed for product improvements, regulatory compliance, or supply changes.
- Provide technical support and collaborate with key internal stakeholders, including R&D, Quality, Safety, Regulatory, Manufacturing, and Commercial teams.
- Maintain laboratory organization, including safe chemical handling, equipment care, GHS labeling, waste disposal, and general housekeeping.
- Support field and global teams by preparing, packaging, and distributing product samples as required.
Required Education and Experience:

- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, Chemistry, Toxicology, or a related field required, Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in manufacturing, chemistry, laboratory work, or a similar technical environment.
- Experience with plant nutrition formulations and related chemistry is highly desirable.
- First Aid/CPR certification preferred.
- Proven experience establishing internal audit systems and ensuring successful external audit compliance.
- Hands-on experience performing chemical and physical analysis for QA/QC.
- Strong understanding of chemical hazards, PPE requirements, and engineering controls.
- Demonstrated accuracy, discipline, and ability to meet company goals and timelines.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in English; Spanish proficiency is a plus.
- Computer literacy and ability to work effectively with data management systems.
