The Portfolio Marketing Manager, Specialty Crops leads marketing strategy and commercial execution for Rovensa Next's specialty crop portfolio, including adjuvants, biostimulants, and nutritional products serving tree nut, fruit, vegetable, and vine crop markets across the U.S. and Canada.
This role serves as the primary marketing and commercial liaison between growers, Pest Control Advisors (PCAs), distributors, and internal teams. The Product Marketing Manager is responsible for developing differentiated product positioning, translating technical and performance data into compelling marketing messages, and driving go-to-market strategies that support growth, customer adoption, and market share expansion in competitive specialty crop segments.
Working closely with Marketing, Technical & Development, Key Account Management, and Regional Commercial teams, this position helps align product performance, market needs, and commercial objectives to deliver business results. The Product Marketing Manager reports to the North America Director of Marketing.
Key Responsibilities
Product Marketing Strategy & Portfolio Management
- Lead marketing strategy and commercial execution for Rovensa Next's specialty crop portfolio, including adjuvants, biostimulants, and nutritional products across tree nuts, fruit, vegetables, and vine crops in the U.S. and Canada.
- Develop and execute portfolio growth strategies that protect and expand market share in mature, highly competitive, and price-sensitive product categories.
- Identify portfolio expansion opportunities through market analysis, customer insights, and assessment of emerging grower needs.
- Monitor specialty crop acreage trends, crop economics, and category dynamics to optimize portfolio focus and marketing investment allocation.
Claims Development & Product Positioning
- Partner closely with Marketing, Technical, Development, and Commercial teams to translate scientific, efficacy, and performance data into compelling, credible, and differentiated product claims.
- Develop product positioning and value propositions tailored to growers, Pest Control Advisors (PCAs), distributors, and retail channel partners.
- Ensure all marketing claims are technically sound, commercially relevant, and aligned with regulatory and stewardship requirements.
- Establish positioning strategies addressing key specialty crop challenges, including water scarcity, drought, heat stress, pest pressure, and other environmental stresses.
Go-to-Market Execution
- Build and execute annual go-to-market plans aligned to crop cycles, purchasing windows, and channel priorities.
- Create and maintain marketing collateral, sales tools, technical communications, digital assets, and campaign materials that support commercial objectives.
- Collaborate with agencies and internal stakeholders to ensure consistent messaging and brand execution across channels.
- Support product launches, line extensions, and commercial initiatives that increase adoption and revenue growth.
Sales Enablement & Market Development
- Equip sales teams, Key Account Managers, distributors, and channel partners with effective messaging, positioning, and sales enablement resources.
- Strengthening Rovensa Next brand awareness and market presence across the specialty crop segment.
- Monitor industry trends, competitive activity, customer needs, and market developments to identify opportunities and risks.
- Support private-label business strategies and customer retention efforts in partnership with Commercial and Key Account teams.
- Represent the company at trade shows, industry events, customer meetings, and educational programs.
Budget Management & Performance Tracking
- Manage the specialty crop marketing budget and track performance against annual business objectives and financial targets.
- Measure and analyze marketing effectiveness, portfolio performance, and market penetration metrics.
- Provide recommendations to improve program effectiveness, customer engagement, and return on marketing investment.
Education & Experience Requirements
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Agronomy, Crop Science, Pomology, Viticulture, Agricultural Marketing, Business, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of product marketing, brand management, product management, or commercial marketing experience within the agricultural inputs industry.
- Demonstrated experience marketing specialty crop products, including adjuvants, biostimulants, crop nutrition products, crop protection products, or related agricultural technologies.
- Proven success translating technical, agronomic, or scientific data into customer-focused marketing strategies, messaging, and commercial programs.
- Experience developing and executing go-to-market strategies across distributor, retailer, PCA, and grower channels.
- Strong understanding of specialty crop production systems and agricultural distribution networks.
Preferred
- MBA or advanced degree in Agronomy, Agricultural Economics, Marketing, or related discipline.
- Experience managing products within mature and highly competitive agricultural markets.
- Experience working within private equity-owned, growth-oriented, or rapidly evolving organizations.
- Experience supporting North American specialty crop markets.
